How to boost my metabolism & Extra help

Hi everyone!

Today, I wanted to do a post that was a little more personal and something that a large amount of people struggle with, Metabolism. Metabolism is something that we need to kick start each day in order to lose weight.

I always have struggled losing weight, even as a child. I was always active, participating in sports, and out of school activities. Somehow, weight still kept hitting me and I had to figure out how to get it off. The answer is kick start that metabolism.

So, how do I boost my metabolism?

1. Eat, Eat, Eat.

Make sure you are eating the three main meals a day and even some small snacks in between like fruits or nuts. Always make sure to eat breakfast. That is the first meal to go into your body for the day and that is what will kick start your metabolism. I know it might be hard for a few, because I am one that has never eaten breakfast and I had to start recently in order to boost my metabolism and start getting my body to get into the mode for weightloss.

2. Drink cold water

Drinking water will always help you stay healthy and lose water weight, but did you know that it can also temporarily kick start your metabolism. Drinking water can help you metabolism but drinking cold water is even better because your body uses energy and calories to warm up the temperature of the water you are putting into it.

3.High Intensity Workouts

High intensity interval workouts involve you to do quick and very hard (in my opinion) bursts of acivity. Whether it is jumping jacks, mountain climbers, etc. These workouts not only help you during the workout but will continue to burn calories after the workout is finished.

4. Build Muscle

AKA, lift heavy. Push yourself and try to lift weights and try to do things you never thought possible because pushing your body will boost that metabolism.

5. Stop sitting around

Whenever you get a moment and there is nothing to do and you are just sitting around or you are doing something that you can do standing, stand, or even walk. The more your body moves, the calories it is burning.

6. My favorite… Drink green tea!

Green tea has always worked best for me when I want to boost my metabolism. It detoxifies your body, gives you energy and soon you begin to see results of weightloss. I usually drink a cup in the morning with breakfast and then a cup right before bed so that the body is burning calories while I sleep as well.

Now, I know there are so many other ways to boost your metabolism, but these are my top favorites that I feel help the most for people really trying to achieve weightless.

  • Wow, very informative. I have struggled with my weight, but I am doing better. I have just started drinking green tea. I had no idea that breakfast could actually help you lose weight.
    Also I was also wondering if any green tea works or is there one that you would recommend? I have been drinking the Arizona Green Tea.

    • Hello! All green teas will help boost that metabolism but Arizona green tea tends to have those small added sugars in there for better taste. My favorite that I have been drinking is Lipton green tea because they really try not to add anything else to it. It is naturally and they have several different flavors so you don’t have to go with plain green tea! Hope this helps! 🙂
